Discussion:
TRANNY LEAKING, INTERCHANGE PARTS? USED/REBUILD TRANSMISSIONS?

42-4fgc25 tranny / transmission leaks about a quart every two minutes. Seems to be coming from the bottom replaced all the seals and rubber o rings... better but still leaks, Does not like to go up hills when warm, probably because it cant keep the auto transmission pressure up?! Looking to source a non leaking transmission or blueprint mine with a shop manual that has exact measurements and exploded diagram of internal parts. Thanks! Any advise around fixes appreciated!!

You are looking at around $4500.00 from a Toyota dealer. You can rebuild yours if it is not completely junk or contact Joseph Industries and they may have a rebuilt exchange or you can send yours in to be rebuilt

Can't tell you if the X261 would work or not. Depending on the production year of the truck there are 7 different transmissions used on these models. If you call over to Joseph Inustries with the model and serial number they can provide you with either a reman trans or a complete overhaul kit.
They also offer reman and new torque converters.

get that thing replaced, don't even try and weld it.
at the speed it spins, balance is something to be respected.

"it's not rocket surgery"
You should not try to re-weld this yourself, unless you are an infinitely experienced weldor.
Options include checking with a qualified machine shop, or with a comprehensive type of automotive transmission rebuild/rehab firm that offers torque convertor repair services.

Narrowed it down to the hub weld where it connects to torque converter shell micro crack, should I just re-weld or do I need a new one?
