Discussion:
Timing belt GC25K

Does anyone have this service manual? I am looking to replace the cam and crank front seals and timing belt. Need pic of where to set timing marks. Any help would be appreciated!

4G63 and 64 time the same way
marks are on crank gear and cover at crank gear about 10 o'clock facing the front of the engine.
The cam marks are 2 dots on the gear and the pointer/mark on the cover is on the left side facing the engine around where the seam where the head meets the block (around 9 o'clock). It's casted into the cover along the edge, its not hard to find if you know what you're looking for.

Last but not least the oil pump sprocket needs to be timed also, it has marks on it and a pointer in the cover also. Many techs overlook this and without the pump timed it causes a vibration in the engine.

Now when you get all your marks set and go to set the tensioner get it in place, set the tension slightly letting just the spring pressure set the tension, then rotate the engine when your satisfied with the tension to avoid it slipping, and keep an eye on the marks, if all is right they will be in the right places, if they are off you'll see it right off and have to reset and adjust the belt , starting over the alignment process.

good luck
