clark starting issue

i have a clark c500 ys80 diesel im having a problem with it starting it will not start with key it did have a bad starter i replaced it it has a ballast resistor and a 4 post coil the coil makes contact but doesnt release contact until the key is switched off but there is no connection to the starter any help would be appreciated

The 4 post "coil" is a anti-start relay which also serves to "turn on" the alternator. One of the wires goes directly to the starter. Sounds like the either the relay is bad or you attached the start wire to the wrong terminal to the starter.
