HELP!!! I HAVE A YALE GLC070 THAT HAS CODE 524223-1. (FWD/REV PRESSURE LESS THAN COMMANDED) TRUCK MOVES ABOUT 5FT IN EITHER DIRECTIONS AND CODES OUT. I'VE CHECKED VOLTAGES ETC AT PRESSURE SWITCHES AND ALSO REPLACED PRESSURE SENSORS WITH NO LUCK. ALSO REMOVED SOLENOIDS AND CLEANED, STILL NOTHING. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED....

I received this same error code (524223-1) on a Yale GLC120. Our forklift would start and run, but if moved even 5 feet forward or reverse it would shut down. In another post here on Forklift Action the official trouble shooting procedure for this error is provided and its first recommendation is to verify that the transmission fluid level is not low. I checked the trans fluid on mine and indeed it was very low. I filled with Universal Tractor Trans-Hydraulic fluid (recommended for our unit) and the error code had disappeared and the forklift began running fine again.

I only guessing but there is a possibility that the charge pump has a seal that has broken down allowing air into the system pump pressure should be 200 lbs/in might be a problem with relief valve, should be able to check it with pressure gauge.

Yes I checked the voltages and they are as you said. Customer needed a truck so this one was sent to shop to be repaired. I hooked my quad gauge to ports and it wouldn't even budge. Customer now has loaner until trans is repaired. Also noticed trans fluid is full of bubbles. Wondering if there's internal bad seal or if it's something else internal.

Hi liftman,

Let's go back to the sensors you say you checked the voltages at the sensors but you did not say what they were, with the sensors disconnected you should have 5volts with the ignition on, with the sensors connected and back probing the connector check the voltage ignition on. You should have a reading 0.5 volts or there abouts.
Do you have these readings.
It just seems strange to me that both direction solenoid so would fail together.
Recheck your voltages and come back to us.

Regards Nero.

In forward code 524225-1. In reverse code 524223-1. I removed fwd and rev solenoids and put 12v to both. Neither are working. I have both ordered. Will update if this fixes.

What code does it give? Is it doing the same thing if you try forward and it codes out, clear code, and then try reverse? Same code?

you need to replace the proportional valves on the transmission control valve. they work together so need replaced together.

I've check enable valve and all is good there. When it travels, it's like a new truck. Pulls great. But codes out after 10-15ft. Any other info would be great. Thanks

Ok. I'll remove and chk. The truck will travel 10-15ft or so before it codes out.

You can take the enable valve off and energize it with 12 volts. Listen for click and see if the spool moves. You can install it, start machine, sit on seat, and see if it is getting power.

I removed it and cleaned it. Didn't see anything out of ordinary. And seems to be working as should. Any checks to do on it that you know of? Thanks in advance.

Did you check the trans enable solenoid valve? It looks like the F and R valves, right rear corner of the valve body.

That is forward 1 valve pressure low- calibration fail. Are you full throttling the engine during calibration? The engine should be at full throttle during the entire process.

Oil level is good. When attempting to calibrate through the dash it gets down to about 5 secs remaining and codes out. Which proportional solenoids are you talking about. This is the first one of these I've encountered. Thanks for the replies.

this is normally a sign that the prportional solenoids need replaced , or you are simply low on oil. check the level is good and calibrate the transmission. might cure it for now
