Big Joe's LPT40 DSD pallet truckBig Joe Forklifts has collaborated with Texas-headquartered alcoholic beverage distributor Andrews Distributing, to develop the LPT40 DSD (direct store delivery) pallet jack.
Big Joe states the pallet jack has been designed to “radically reduce delivery times” for direct store deliveries by checking in product by weight using an integrated scale.
The LPT40 DSD is a compact machine with a 4,000 lbs. (1,814kg) capacity and, Big Joe says, with fewer touch points because the load is measured by weight rather than hand-counting, is able to reduce delivery times by up to 43%.
“Beyond reducing delivery times, Big Joe and Andrews Distributing have found that this new lift truck also reduces worker fatigue by reducing the number of touch points from the delivery team,” the companies say in a statement.
“The LPT40 DSD packages this technology in a small form factor without compromising the power and runtime industry leaders need to deliver all day.”
Dan Betz, executive vice president of operations at Andrews Distributing, says the new pallet jack brings “game-changing technology” to the market.
“With successful testing over the last year, our customers appreciate the new streamlined check-in-by-weight process,” Best continues. “While our delivery team loves the faster stop times and is more than happy to let Big Joe do the heavy lifting.”
