Discussion:
Wiring harness colors?

Hi all, I'm trying to sort out some wiring issues and need some help with the colors. There is a group of wires that I think used to be hooked up to the rotary battery switch. They are yellow with a blue stripe. Can anyone confirm these are suppose to be hooked up to positive battery?

On the other side of the engine bay there is a group of dark green wires with a black stripe that I think used to be hooked up to the engine block. These are suppose to go to ground?

If so why is the heavy wire that goes to the alternator output dark green with a black stripe?

Confused.

Got it figured out by using a DMM and a test light. Turns out the group of yellow wires with the green stripe near the battery switch are really ground and the dark green wire group near the engine ground are really the harness power. Now that I have that sorted out things are starting to work.
