Paul I've been in the industry for over 40 years pal as both an engineer and loler inspector and can assure you I am 100% correct as john_r stated the battery minimum weight is part of the ballast and cannot be changed without the manufacturer say so.
Stuck to what you kniw about because you know nothing about forklifts
