Hello,

I just purchased a Clark C300 50LP fork truck. The motor runs well and all of the lift functions are operational but It has 2 problems.

1. The truck will not drive forward or reverse
a)There is no change in the sound to the motor when shifting between forward nuetral and reverse.
b)There is redish colored fluid in the transmission
c)I can see and hear that the linkage is actuating the shift mechanism
d)The front wheels did not turn in forward or reverse when lifted off the ground
e) There is a valve located near the shifting shaft that is connected to a second splined shaft. It appears that its connected to the braking hydraulic system. I can't tel what it does but there is a spring loaded plunger that actuates the second spine shaft and it moves freely when I pull on it with pliers.

2. There are no brakes
a) the pedal goes to the floor with no resistance
b) The master cylinder is full of red fluid
c) with the cap off the master cylinder and while pumping the brake I do not see any movement in the brake fluid

I would be very appreciable if someone could give me some clues as to what this might be and some things to check. I have an extensive amount of mechanical experience and have done repairs to several electric fork trucks in the past.

Also, I have searched extensively for a service manual and parts manual but I have not found anything can you tell me where to obtain one?
