Discussion:
No drive bleed pump ?

Hi
I have a very old rough terrain manitou forklift
It lost drive today and I realised it was out of hydraulic fluid so filled it up with fluid but still no drive back or forwards
Lifting and forks is working fine so I am wondering if the hydraulic pump that powers the drive To the Gearbox will need bleeding as its run short of fluid ?

Showing items 1 - 7 of 7 results.
Found a dipstick under a nut head in the middle of the cab floor showing plenty of fluid
Underneath can see an oil filter on side of gearbox with pipes going to bottom of radiator so presumably a gearbox oil cooler filter looks very old and rusty
Cant see anything to unbolt like a strainer to clean

The dipstick comes up close to the bulkhead on the right hand side
Check the direction lever in the cab and the relays/fuses

I think its a Manitou MB26JC and I saw an original advertising brochure online that said it has a torque converter if that tells anything about the type of drive

Look under the bonnet for a dipstick to the gearbox as I think the hydraulic system is separate to the gearbox.
I think it has a normal auto type gearbox

I think it has four gears its very old has the gearstick under the seat and some kind of gearstick over on the left side never worked out what that does though
Looks like a hydraulic pump under the radiator Driven by a coupling off tge engine with a large rubber hose one side ( oil feed from tank ?) and a Metal pipe other side ( pressure feed to gearbox ? )
