Discussion:
Lithium Ion Battery Forklift

Hi All Forumers here

I would like to ask a question.
I have one brand new lithium ion battery forklift. but it will not be used for one year onwards due to some reason. Is it necessary to charge the battery every month? or it can be interval three months once to charge? and will it damage the battery lifetime if stored too long without using.

Thank you. Looking forward for guidance here.

Hello, this is Evis from a battery pack factory, Please keep the battery in the cool and dry environment: Within 1 month -5°C~35°C or Within 6 months 0°C~35°C, with relative humidity s75%, please charge the battery pack (around 50% SOC)regularly (every 60-90 days) to keep its chemistry active and longer lifespan. Long shelf time without charging the battery, the battery may completely depleted or totally died.

Ideally, you should charge it every month - these batteries like to stay somewhat active. Charging every three months is doable if you must, but it might take a bit longer to fully charge when you're ready to use it again.

Keep in mind, super long storage without any use can shorten the battery's lifespan overall. It's best to charge it to roughly 50% or 60% before storage and keep it in a cool, dry spot. Hi! We import majority of Lithium-ion Forklifts, and once the equipment is dispatched from the factory, it is idle for about 2-3 months (sea transportation and custom clearance). We have seen the battery percentage fall down to about 97% only. I would recommend putting the equipment in charge once every 3 months.

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
