Discussion:
Backfiring

I have a 2018 toyota 8fgcu30. So we replaced the vaporizer because old one had a hole in diaphragm. It's been a month since we replaced it. It starts and runs smoothly but when you start driving it, it eventually backfires through the air filter. It literally blew apart the secondary air filter. What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated

So the problem is the little solenoid valve that comes with the mixer. There was a short in one of the wires ans the plug. Replaced the plug, wire and solenoid valve. No more issues.

Also check the diaphragm in the mixer , have seen a lot that stick and cause the same issue

Normally most backfire problems come from some problem with the ingion system l would check the cap roter wires and plugs. check your coil and pick up. Very rarely but possible a intake valve could cause this. would have to be on the intake because you said it blows the air filter cap off. if it were backfiring from the muffler l would say it is a exhaust valve. with that said I myself have never seen that on a late model Toyota.
