Ideally, you should charge it every month - these batteries like to stay somewhat active. Charging every three months is doable if you must, but it might take a bit longer to fully charge when you're ready to use it again.

Keep in mind, super long storage without any use can shorten the battery's lifespan overall. It's best to charge it to roughly 50% or 60% before storage and keep it in a cool, dry spot.
