Discussion:
Left side drive motor

I'm working on a FB18M-3 that has a problem with the left (top) motor. The machine just crawls at any throttle position. Does anyone know the easiest way to get the motor out?

I've got everything disconnected and the motor slid out part way but the brake disc hits the steel lines going to the hydraulic control valve. It looks like the battery has to come out to get at the hose connections underneath it to be able to remove the steel lines, if there is a connection under there.

Anyone have any advice? I don't want to rent a machine to pull the battery and find that it doesn't help get the lines out of the way.
