Before you get to carried away, make sure the batteries are good and fully charged and all cables and connections are good. Couldn't locate the part number for the hand set butr your local hyster dealer can advise you of cost.

Code AL 06 is telling you either your motor field or armature current is too high or too low. Check motor and wiring between motor and controller. A handset or PC will give you more details as to armature or field and low or high current.
