Discussion:
Has anyone heard of this manufacture Yard Truck??

I have someone looking for a steering knuckle for a forklift. I am being told by the owner that the make is "Yard Truck" Model 6024. I have not seen the forklift myself, nor have I ever heard of the manufacturer Yard Truck. I am being told that it is a 1954. If anyone has any Info on this, it will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

This note came to Forkliftaction directly from Mike Lejeune, so I have added it here and we hope that it is helpful to this discussion......

Yard lift model 6024 is a Clark lift truck serial built also in Europe under license at Strasbourg plant and I suppose in Mülheim/Ruhr too.
6024 is engineering model name.
I can't remember this truck because in 1954 I ran with short.
I remember to have seen many 6024 record-cards from Strasbourg production at Mülheim factory.
Normally serial number of machine is engraved at right side of chassis at foot step vicinity. Apart from 6024 figure, you should find 6 to 8 digits corresponding to Clark's order number. These digits are needed for finding lift truck record-card so that adequate steering knuckle will be delivered.
Once complete serial number is found, please contact:

In Europe:

E-mail: Contactsheet: BERNARD DE MEESTER

Mr. De Meester is TVH Sales Manager and has a collection of Clark classics. I forgot to mention that TVH purchased in 2003 all European Clark documentation regarding parts business.

In the United States:
The only address is to contact Clark Material Handling Head Quarter in KY-Lexington. I have no more contact persons as all I knew are retired.

Kind regards

The serial number is #Y6049266 Model Y6024. I will get with the owner to verify the part and the side in which the part is affixed. He did not tell me what side he needed but i will get that info to you. My e mail is brad at aerialliftequipment. com. if you want to correspond that way.

Thanks.

My guess is that this part has been no longer available from Clark for decades. It would be best to try to get a used one which I may be able to supply if you had a serial # or part #. Which side knuckle do you need, as you are sitting on the truck?

I appreciate the information about this truck. I knew someone here would know something about this truck. Now, will Clark be my best rescource for parts or are there better parts suppliers for this old of a truck.
Thanks again for the information!!
Have a Happy New Year!

The make of the truck is a Clark and it is indeed very old. Back in the day Clark named all of their trucks in addition to having models and serial #'s. They had Yardtruck, Truckloader, Clipper etc. Your model is a Y6024 and you will need a serial # to get any parts, The serial # is stamped in the vertical part of the frame in about 1.5" high #'s. The serial # should consist of #'s and letters and be about 6 digits long.

I agree, the info is very vague. I am going to have to take a look at it myself to get the details so it can be identified properly. This forklift actually belongs to the dad of one of our empolyees so I was hoping that he would have more details since he has seen the truck. It looks like I will make the trip and see this so calld Yard Truck. I do appreciate your response and keep your eye open here, because when I get the info I will post it here, hopefully with pictures. Thanks.
