Hi. New to the forum and could really use some help. I have a Genie Z60/34 zoom boom with a Deutz F4L1011F that won't stay running. It will start easily, and continue to run initially for about 20 mins, then shut down. Will restart but not stay running. I did notice that the battery voltage read out shows that it's not charging and when it drops to 10, it shuts down. The battery shows a full charge on a multimeter and the alternator shows 14.3 V output. Suggestions??

So here's the update. Turns out the wiring harness is faulty and the alternator is too. The alternator would start out strong then lose voltage after 5 to 10 minutes and slowly kill the battery. New alternator installed and new wiring harness on it's way. Thanks for your good ideas fellas, I appreciate it.
Swoop, I was thinking along the same lines as you with the fuel/ignition solenoid. I tested all the relays, checked for bad wiring or connectors, and tested the alternator...everything is good.. *sigh.
Could this be a bad battery??
Brewski, I'm struggling to understand how a controller could shut down an engine. It doesn't matter if the machine is being used in the basket or just idling with ground controls. That being said, I am an amateur in my knowledge of Genies, so I will pursue your suggestion.
you may have a bad engine ignition/start module
see Chart 3 in the service manual for testing circuits associated.
only other issue may be a bad connection in the fuel solenoid circuit or a bad fuel solenoid coil.
that troubleshooting chart takes you through all that
get the serial number off the data plate
go to gogenie.com and go to the service manual section and download the service manual for this unit serial number.
It has all information you need to troubleshoot this problem.
You can access wiring diagrams on Genie's web site. do a goggle search for genie manlift.
I would check my wiring to the controller. See if you have a voltage drop. If not, you may have a controller problem.
