cant move forklift steering has locked please help

hello new here. small contractor recently purchased a clark fork lift its very old but runs good and operates fine or was steering was always stiff but it has now completely locked up. it doe snot seem to have hydraulic steering ? its a very small 2500 lb unit. this is data plate info

C500 25 type G
2500 pounds
serial # 235 369 2321 1173

does this model just have mechanical steering ? any advice on where to look first as we cannot turn the steering at all right now. we have the back wheels off the ground and make no difference at all still no steering function ?

Can anyone here offer any advice ?

I'd suggest removing the floorboard and inspecting the steering box and pittman arm. Most likely it goes to a drag link that travels back to a steering bell crank. Disconnect it at one end or the other to see where the binding is happening.
