 Transdek's new Cat |
Transdek, a double-deck trailer and loading bay technology manufacturer, has ordered a DP50N counterbalance truck to replace a forklift in its fleet, continuing a tradition of specifying Cat equipment.
Keen to replace the long-serving forklift with a similarly reliable machine, Transdek placed a first-time order with Cat distributor Impact.
The new truck will be based at the company's site in Harworth, Nottinghamshire, and will work across the production line, handling key elements of the process, including unloading pre-cut steel, assisting trailer assembly and transporting sections to the spray shop.
Matthew Healey, engineering manager at Transdek, says: "In the years we've specified Cat lift trucks, we've had great uptime, and when we decided to order a new forklift, we knew we wanted to remain with the manufacturer.
"The key element that made us turn to Impact was the great service they were offering on top of providing us with a premium asset.
"With the help of Impact's service engineers, we fully intend to make sure this forklift is up and running every day, living up to the reliability of its predecessor."
Impact will provide proactive servicing and maintenance to support the new truck, identifying and fixing faults before they become a problem and ensuring Transdek's materials handling equipment lasts longer, performs better and avoids unexpected downtime, according to a spokesman. A fully tailored support program fits servicing and maintenance around Transdek's operations, conducting routine servicing during quieter periods or outside of operating hours.
Established in 1985, Impact is wholly owned by Eqstra Holdings and is the sole distributor for Cat Lift Trucks for the whole of the UK and Ireland. Impact is also an agent for other leading materials handling brands, ranging from forklift and warehouse equipment, heavy-duty lift trucks, side loaders, articulated trucks, access equipment and cranes.
Impact operates from 11 locations and has more than 250 employees, including 150-plus service engineers.
