 Momatt's Toluca facility |
Crown forklift distributor Momatt SA de CV expects to host training sessions for more than 250 service technicians during 2015.
Momatt opened a new facility in Toluca in June, and its service training instructors have completed preparations for the sessions under the Demonstrated Performance (DP) service training program, making its first appearance in Mexico. The instructors used service technician modules and instruction education tools at the Dallas, Texas sales, service and regional training facility of Crown Equipment Corp.
Each service technician will spend about 80 hours at the Momatt DP service training centre each year for skills development, according to Justin Moore, Crown regional training manager.
Moore and Momatt president Lourdes Saldaña collaborated in setting parameters for the Momatt centre. Those include forklift truck inventory, service and safety tools and trainer certification requirements.
Saldaña says Momatt has had a relationship with Crown for more than 42 years. "We always have been impressed with the company's hands-on approach to training and how it results in high-quality customer service," Saldaña says. "When we had an opportunity to create a training facility in Mexico, we wanted to work with Crown to ensure our technicians were receiving the same level of training that they would receive at one of Crown's facilities."
New Bremen, Ohio, US-based Crown trains more than 1,800 service technicians annually at its six regional US training facilities in California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio and Texas.
In addition to Crown forklifts, Momatt represents Cascade Corp materials handling load engagement devices, Exide Technologies' GNB-brand batteries and chargers and Materials Transportation Co lateral extraction and vertical exhaust systems.
