MSC Terminal Valencia is boosting its RTG fleet. |
Konecranes will deliver three more RTGs to the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Terminal Valencia in Spain.
This will be Konecranes' third RTG delivery to the MSC Terminal and will take the facility's fleet to 18 Konecranes RTGs.
The cranes will be delivered by Spring 2017.
Sven Valentin, terminal manager at MSC Terminal Valencia, says the Konecranes RTGs are central to the continuing success of this terminal. "They are high-performing, reliable machines that our operators like to drive.
"I look forward to receiving these new cranes."
The 16-wheel RTGs will be equipped with Konecranes' Active Load Control, Diesel Fuel Saver system, GPS Auto-TOS reporting and Auto-positioning. They will have a lifting capacity of 40 T, stacking one-over-five containers high and six plus truck lane wide.
Antti Halonen, sales manager for Konecranes' Port Cranes division, welcomes the order "which shows that our cooperation with MSC Terminal Valencia is strong".
The first Konecranes RTGs were delivered in 2009, Halonen says. "MSC Terminal Valencia's confidence in us is derived from the excellent performance of our equipment and the high quality of our local service. Consistency is the key."
