Steelweld is based in Northern IrelandTerex has announced the acquisition of Steelweld, a manufacturer of heavy fabrications based in Northern Ireland. The purchase of Steelweld supports the growth strategy of Terex Materials Processing by increasing fabrication capabilities in Northern Ireland.

Established in 1983 and operating from a 60,000 sqft. (5,600 sqm) state-of-the-art facility in Cookstown, Steelweld has firmly developed into a leader in quality laser cutting and fabrication services across the UK and Ireland.
Historically operating in the quarrying and mining industry, growth of the Steelweld team has been strategically planned to integrate engineering and manufacturing experience from the construction, agriculture, transport and recycling sectors, according to the company website.
Financial details of the transaction have not been released, nor any indication of the impact on Steelweld’s leadership and staffing.
