Innovation to minimise waste and downtime
Trelleborg, SwedenTrelleborg Wheel Systems has launched its Pit Stop Line innovation for its premium range industrial tyres. The solution incorporates an orange line embedded into a forklift tyre which becomes an indicator on the tyre wall that the rubber has reached the end of its lifetime.
With the Pit Stop Line appearing 100 hours or five to 15 working days before the tyre needs replacing, Trelleborg says operators can plan their tyre changes in advance and thus avoid unplanned downtime. The innovation is also expected to reduce tyre waste, cut downtime and reduce the carbon footprint associated with packaging and transportation.
Crown Equipment introduces stacker
New Bremen, OH, United StatesCrown Equipment Corp has expanded the capacity range of its Crown SX 3000 Series stacker. The Crown SX 3000-40 walkie straddle stacker, which can lift 4,000 lb. (1,814 kg) to a height of 192 in. (4.9 m), is suitable for grocery and retail warehouses and distribution centres. It can stack single pallet loads three levels or higher to save space. Unlike typical counterbalance trucks that require an 11 to 13 ft. (3.4 to 4 m) aisle to operate, the Crown SX 3000-40 allows managers to use six- to seven-foot (1.8-2.1 m) aisles.
Product manager Rod Squires calls the stackers a "dependable addition to any forklift fleet where there is a need to carry and stack heavy loads while manoeuvring in tight spaces".
The product is available in North America and Latin America.
