Delta marks 50th anniversary
Memphis, TN, United StatesDelta Materials Handling Inc has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a new logo, branding scheme and regional marketing campaign.
The company, founded in 1960, is the authorised dealer for Clark, Linde, Mitsubishi, Landoll/Bendi and Landoll/Drexel. It has over 500 rental forklifts and also sells used forklifts.
Delta spokesman Jim Colloredo says the dealer wanted to make its logo more contemporary "to better work in sync with our vendor manufacturers' logos".
"The delta symbol has three points so, along with matching our name, it pays tribute to our original three owners," he says.
Christmas hampers to win at expo
Birmingham, United KingdomVisitors to Mentor's stand at IMHX 2010 will have the chance to win a Christmas hamper filled with treats for the family.
The UK forklift training provider is giving away one hamper for every day of the show at Birmingham's NEC from 16-19 November. Visitors who select a non-prize winning key will receive training advice covering a range of materials handling and mobile plant equipment.
Traffic reporter to present awards
Alton, United KingdomThe Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has enlisted popular reporter Sally Boazman, known to her Radio 2 listeners as "Sally Traffic", to present the awards at its Annual Awards for Excellence 2011.
Popular traffic and travel reporter Boazman has worked with UK radio presenters Steve Wright, Johnnie Walker, Ken Bruce, Jeremy Vine and Chris Evans, and has been credited as the woman who changed the face of traffic news. Millions in the UK tune into her bulletins and it is said that the Highways Agency uses her reports to update its own.
The awards will be held on 12 February 2011 at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham Hotel.
Sun Tyre buys joint venture
Chennai, IndiaSun Tyre & Wheel Systems, part of the USD6 billion TVS Group of India, has acquired Watts Lanka Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of solid industrial tyres in Sri Lanka.
Sun Tyre will use the Sri Lankan company as a manufacturing base for solid tyres. It has already started expanding the plant's capacity and expects the extended production line to commence in the next month.
The acquisition value was not disclosed.
Watts Lanka Pvt Ltd was a joint venture between Watts Tyres Limited in the UK and KVK Invest JSC in Bulgaria.
