Hyster's all-weather protection option

Hyster has unveiled new weather protection options for its new electric forklifts to protect operators from the extreme UK winter.

The new Hyster three- and four-wheel electric forklifts have been designed for maximum productivity in both indoor and outdoor operations. The new series comes with a full range of weather protection options for the new J1.5-2.0XNT and J1.6-2.0XN models.

The new range features full-steel cabs and a variety of factory-installed or aftermarket kits that can be mounted onto the standard overhead guard. The weather protection kits include front, top and rear toughened glass screens with a choice of either steel or PVC doors.

David Rowell, Hyster's European operations manager, says visibility is a primary focus when operating in extreme weather. "Hyster has achieved excellent all-round visibility through a combination of slim profile guards and maximum glazed areas on the doors, front and rear screens."

To protect the operator from the cold, a heater/demister is also available with the steel door option to keep the driver comfortable throughout a shift. The heavyweight PVC doors have zippers and in hot weather can be removed by unzipping.

Rowell explains the weather protection options are ideal for businesses using Hyster electric trucks in outside operations. "The purpose is to keep the drivers comfortable in all weather conditions so that they continue to perform efficiently."
