Elokon, a provider of forklift telematics and safety solutions, has launched EloshieldAI, an AI-powered safety solution that combines ultra-wideband (UWB) proximity detection and AI-powered, tagless vision technology to prevent collisions in high-risk industrial environments.

According to the company, this dual-layered design makes real-time detection and analysis of pedestrian and vehicle behaviour possible, even in cluttered, or low-visibility environments.

“UWB delivers the precision needed to prevent vehicle collisions and enables intelligent features like speed zoning, while AI lets us identify and analyse pedestrian behaviour in real time,” says Alex Glasmacher, CEO of Elokon.

“With EloshieldAI, customers can choose the safety configuration that fits their environment - whether that’s badge-based alerts, tagless detection, or both.”

EloshieldAI includes several key advancements, including enhanced pedestrian detection, entity classification and contextual awareness to distinguish between people and objects; and sensor fusion to ensure reliability.

In addition, the combination of UWB and AI ensures precise detection of vehicles and supports intelligent safety automation such as automatic speed reduction in defined zones and collision prevention.

EloshieldAI is compatible with a wide range of forklift models and can be easily retrofitted onto existing fleets. The system is fully customisable to meet the specific operational needs of each facility.

“By merging UWB precision with artificial intelligence, EloshieldAI delivers a fail-safe, layered approach to safety,” Glasmacher adds.
