There’s a bold call in this week’s news: forklifts are redundant in the warehouse environment.

An American startup claims its technology will replace the “complexity” of forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, elevators and other automation in warehouses.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the market agrees.

Obviously the death knell of forklifts and other materials handling equipment won’t be tolling anytime soon, especially considering the wariness of many to put 100% trust in software.

Stay tuned for next week when our editor-at-large Allan Leibowitz files a report from the three-day CeMAT Australia exhibition in Melbourne.
