LogiMAT postponed

Munich, Germany

Organisers of the LogiMAT trade show, scheduled for 8-10 March 2022, in Stuttgart, have postponed the event until 31 May – 2 June 2022.

EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH has worked closely with exhibitors in making the decision to push back the event in the wake of concerns about COVID-19.

“The current high level of case incidences is unsettling to everyone, including our exhibitors. This is understandable and cannot simply be ignored. That’s why we are compelled once more to respond to the situation at hand. Our exhibitors need certainty for their planning, and that’s difficult right now,” explains Michael Ruchty, exhibition director of LogiMAT Stuttgart. “From today’s perspective, it isn’t clear whether it will be possible to host the full on-site event in March. The exhibitors would like to see an in-person event, but if vaccination rates remain too low and the resulting strain on hospital capacities leads once more to the introduction of stricter measures, then that’s not in the interests of everyone involved. We must do everything we can to ensure that the event lives up to the understandable expectations of on-site exhibitors and visitors. That’s why it’s not surprising that many exhibitors explicitly support this postponement.”

New Asian event added

Singapore

The Southeast Asian edition of transport logistic and air cargo will take place in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 13 - 15 September 2023.

MMI Asia, the regional subsidiary of Messe Munchen (MMG), announced the dates together with key industry stakeholders Changi Airport Group, SATS Ltd and DHL Express. Organisers also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore Tourism Board.

This edition is the latest in the series of transport logistic and air cargo shows which include India, China, Turkey, the United States and the parent show in Munich.

AntwerpXL delayed

London, United Kingdom

AntwerpXL, the breakbulk and heavy lift event, has been postponed from December 2021 to 4 – 6 October 2022.

The decision has been made in consultation with the community due to the announcement of COVID restrictions in Belgium. The situation looks likely to continue for the weeks ahead, directly impacting Easyfairs’ ability to serve the industry in the best possible way.

Sophie McKimm, event manager of AntwerpXL, says: “After the success of the inaugural event, we know how valuable holding an event in person is to the industry. In an industry survey, over 82% of respondents chose a live exhibition similar to previous years as their preferred format for a future event, once safe to do so. We are confident that, with the new dates, we will achieve great success.”
