has named Maria Silva as vice president of human resources for the access segment. In her new role, Silva will lead the company's workplace transformation efforts, including the career growth of existing team members and acquisition of new employees, and the implementation and execution of HR policies, programs and services.
Silva joins the company with more than 25 years of human resource leadership and business management experience in the chemical, plastics and oil and gas drilling industries, supporting both domestic and global operations. Most recently, she was the vice president of HR for Valaris, where she led an 18-month merger integration, to ensure business continuity and strategy implementation within the human resources function. Prior to that, she was the vice president of business development, responsible for overseeing growth strategies for Latin America.
She started her professional career with The Dow Chemical Company where she worked in human resources, marketing, training and customer relations.
Silva is originally from Colombia. She has earned advanced degrees in industrial engineering and marketing from Universidad de Los Andes and Colegio de Estudios Superiores Administracion and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English.

The Association of Industrial Truck Trainers
(AITT) has appointed Liam Knight as its new technical manager.
Knight brings a wealth of front-line experience, much of it focused on materials handling. In his previous position in the training department of one of the UK's largest hauliers, his role involved managing not only materials handling equipment and health and safety training, but also new employee inductions, administering the apprenticeship levy and supervising the company's learning management systems.
As technical manager, Knight's primary responsibilities will be to manage AITT's team of auditors (TSAs), arrange and plan audits with training providers, conduct audits of training providers, and support the development and continuous improvement of training standards.

The Australian Logistics Council
(ALC) has announced the appointment of Brad Williams as its new chief executive officer.
Williams brings more than 25 years' experience in policy development and advocacy across a range of sectors including agriculture, resources, government and energy.
He has held senior corporate affairs and government relations roles at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, ASX-listed mining and metals company South32, and Japanese oil and gas producer INPEX. He also served as a chief of staff to a former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Regional Services.
