Munich, GermanyCOVID-19 has claimed another event, with organisers confirming that transport logistic 2021 will not take place. The background to this is the numerous international travel restrictions, the lifting of which is not foreseeable until spring and which thwart the exhibitors' claim with regard to visitor participation, organisers say.
As a bridge to other events in the transport logistic network, an online conference will be held from May 4 to 6, 2021.
The next transport logistic as a physical trade fair will take place from 9-12 May 2023.
LiftEx and LEEA Award 2021 announced
London, United KingdomThe Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has announced that LiftEx 2021 will be held in Bahrain on 27-28 September 2021 at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain & Convention Centre. The show will return to the UK the following year, when it will be held in Aberdeen on 5-6 October 2022 at The Event Complex, Aberdeen, Scotland.
A standalone LEEA Awards dinner will take place on 5 November 2021 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
Ross Moloney, CEO of LEEA, says: "While we start 2021 with COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in many areas, the vaccine rollout is under way and we see Autumn 2021 as a time when people will be ready to reconnect. We also recognise that supporting an exhibition in the UK in 2021 would be a big ask, given that 2020 was such a difficult year for many.
"Holding this year's exhibition in Bahrain gives LEEA members a chance to meet with new customers and partners and we expect the 250 members in the Middle East to really support the show. We also hope that members from across the globe will attend."

FLA editor to lead CeMAT panel
Melbourne, Vic, AustraliaForkliftaction News editor Allan Leibowitz will facilitate a panel discussion at CeMAT Australia Digital, a virtual event to be held online on 16 February.
Leibowitz will lead a panel discussion on "Materials handling old and new - integration or replacement".
He notes that materials handling is changing radically, especially in warehouses, where old manual processes are being streamlined and automated. "This leaves many logistics players at a crossroads: should they move away from the way things have always been done and embrace the new technologies? Can the new and old co-exist or is it an either/or decision? And what kind of ROI can they expect if they choose to change?" he says.
The panel discussion will examine the Australian materials handling environment from various perspectives - from traditional forklift suppliers, automation vendors and end-users.
MEGATRANS postponed again
Melbourne, Vic, AustraliaMEGATRANS has been postponed until 8 - 10 September 2021 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in the wake of COVID-19 concerns.
According to organisers, the rescheduled event is "perfectly timed to be the leading platform for industry to once again come together in this reimagining of the supply chain".
As one of the first trade expos in the post-COVID recovery phase, MEGATRANS will be essential in re-establishing face-to-face relationships, connecting people to people and business to business, while showcasing solutions that will help the supply chain adapt to situations such as COVID in the future, says a statement.
For the first time, MEGATRANS will take place in conjunction with the specialised bulk handling expo, Australian Bulk Handling Expo 2021. The two events will be held side-by-side, with one ticket entry into both exhibitions.
