 Yale MPR100VG |
Yale Materials Handling Corporation has received a 2015 GOOD DESIGN award for its MPR100VG enclosed end rider.
The vehicle was selected for its state-of-the-art technology, enhanced ergonomic design and class-leading lifting capacity.
The GOOD DESIGN awards are presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, and honour the best industrial designers and world manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.
Meanwhile, Toyota and Crown were honoured in the iF Universal Design accolades.
 BT Lifter |
Toyota Material Handling's BT Lifter L-series hand pallet truck was labelled as an iF Universal Design expert favourite for 2016. The award was presented during the Munich Creative Business Week, where the BT Lifter was featured in the exhibition together with other recommended Universal Designs.
The BT Lifter was originally designed by the Swedish industrial designer Rune Monö in 1967. Over the years, the iconic design has become the standard shape of the hand pallet truck, according to the company.
Last year, the Lifter was also awarded the Japanese Good Design Long Life Design Award 2015.
 Crown RT 4000 |
The iF awards also recognised Crown's RT 4000 Series rider pallet truck. This win in the vehicles category was Crown's 28th iF Product Design Award to date.
"The RT 4000 Series represents a design concept that puts operators at the heart of the development process," explains Jim Kraimer, director - industry design at Crown. "The result is a high-performance product that helps (cut) costs by improving productivity and safety in the warehouse."
