STILL victorious in Volkswagen competition
Hamburg, GermanySTILL has won an award in the Volkswagen Innovative Logistics competition.
STILL received the award for an innovative autonomous system solution for intralogistics goods transport in the context of the marion (Mobile Autonomous cooperative Robots In cOmplex value-added chaiNs) project initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. STILL, together with the CLAAS, Atos and DFKI companies, developed a concept for a new generation of autonomous transport trucks. Its development focus was on maximising flexibility while simultaneously minimising user input when using autonomous trucks.
There were 10 winners in the competition sponsored by Volkswagen in co-operation with the Institute for Production Management.
John Deere honours Hyster
Greenville, NC, United StatesHyster Company has been recognised as a partner-level supplier for 2014 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The partner-level status is Deere & Company's highest supplier rating. Hyster was recognised for its dedication to "providing products and service of outstanding quality, as well as its commitment to continuous improvement".
Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence Program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness.
John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide supplier evaluation and feedback.
AUSA is national champion
Manresa, SpainAUSA has been selected as a National Champion in the Import/Export category of The European Business Awards 2014/15.
It has advanced in the competition and the judging panel will evaluate the presentations of all the category's nominees before deciding on the winner.
The Import/Export Award recognises "organisations that can demonstrate a continuously positive trend in the export/import or re-export of goods, demonstrate the expansion of coverage in existing or new markets and, through the introduction of creative and innovative operational processes, show robustness in managing and developing international trade and maintaining and improving market position in the face of competition".
The European Business Awards recognise excellence, best practice and innovation in companies in the European Union.
