Hyster's wireless monitoring is now standardHyster Company has announced its telemetry solution, the Hyster Tracker wireless monitoring system, will now be included as standard on all electric and IC counterbalance forklifts as well as on some of its stand-up forklift models.
Hyster says wireless monitoring tracks forklift utilisation, impacts, location and diagnostic trouble codes, allowing operations to schedule and track preventative maintenance and to better understand “the total cost of fleet operations”.
Hyster Tracker was first launched in 2013 and, in 2022, Hyster ensured its new A Series forklift series, with the H2.0-3.5A internal combustion engines, were ‘telematics ready’ for use with the Hyster Tracker wireless asset management solution.
Hyster says the Hyster Tracker system provides real-time fleet telemetry monitoring through dashboards which visualise data and provide actionable insights.
Data is stored on a cloud-based portal which is accessible at all times through any internet enabled device. The systems includes seven years of wireless communication fees.
Wireless Monitoring is the first of three levels in the Hyster Tracker offering.
Wireless Access enables several other features including operator key card access allowing authorised users to use equipment, and automatic shutdowns to save energy when no operator is present or when an impact is detected. The third level, Wireless Verification, adds the ability to electronically complete and track pre-shift checklists, including those mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
“Fleet managers and forklift operators are pushed to do more with less, and not just any technology can keep up,” says Steven LaFevers, vice president, Global Emerging Technology with Hyster.
“The goal with making wireless monitoring standard is to equip more operations with the insights that can help them extend the life of their trucks and reduce avoidable damage, downtime and costs.”
