B&B Attachments has supplied one of the UK's largest breweries, Camerons Brewery Ltd, with five customised forklift attachments through forklift maker Jungheinrich.
The KegMaster keg clamps were fitted with special rubber tyne inserts to prevent the kegs from slipping.
"Some keg packs contain kegs that can be smaller than the rest which can therefore slip. This modification has been invaluable for site safety and especially in noise reduction at site - a key consideration for local residents," explains B&B Attachments marketing executive Victoria Adcock.
Camerons Brewery, which has been based in Hartlepool in the northeast of England since 1865, recently underwent a major expansion program that increased capacity at the site, along with modernising equipment and machinery. It is now the 11th largest brewery in the UK and produces over 500,000 pints of beer or lager every day. The company produces over half a million barrels of beer on site annually.
The brewery's logistics manager, Richard Forster, says his company is delighted with the attachments and the service provided by B&B Attachments over the past five years of their partnership. "The Kaup keg clamps provided by B&B are an integral part of our operation, enabling fast and reliable loading, unloading and end-of-line support."
The clamp enables a secure grip of kegs and casks, and allows for easy pallet handling without the removal of the centre tyne, thereby providing the driver with good visibility when approaching the load, while increasing driver confidence and ensuring the safe and secure handling of kegs and casks.
Also, the keg handling attachment decreases the risk of damage to lorries and other overhead obstructions, reduces maintenance costs and ensures less shock loading to trucks.
B&B Attachments Ltd was established in 1980, and represents attachment suppliers such as KAUP GmbH & Co. KG and MoTec GmbH. The company's headquarters is in Cramlington, Northumberland and its customers are in the UK and Europe.
