Jungheinrich buys software firm
Milton Keynes, United KingdomMaterials handling specialist Jungheinrich has completed the acquisition of ISA-Innovative, a warehouse management systems software company.
Jungheinrich has held a significant stake in ISA since 2009 and has co-operated with the company on several large systems projects across Europe.
By acquiring full control of ISA, Jungheinrich has expanded its software capabilities significantly.
Steve Richmond, director of Jungheinrich UK Ltd's systems and projects division, says:
"Software is the heartbeat of modern intralogistics solutions and we now own that core competence which means we can supply an entire suite of software and provide the 24/7 support to ensure that it operates at optimum efficiency."
The value of the acquisition is undisclosed.
Trelleborg extends digital offering
Trelleborg, SwedenTrelleborg says it has become the first global player in the agricultural industry to develop a professional app targeted to the Chinese market in its local language.
The tyre manufacturer's TLC (Trelleborg Load Calculator) app for use on iOS and Android smartphones is now available in 13 languages, including Chinese. The app aids in the calculation of the optimum tyre inflation pressure on agricultural machines according to different applications. It enables the precise calculation of a tractor's load per axle to determine the optimal tyre inflation pressure for specific farming operations.
Marketing director Lorenzo Ciferri says field trials prove that applying the pressures recommended by the app can save farmers up to GBP4,000 (USD6,855) when working 500 ha (1,235 ac.). Farmers can also cut overall operating time by up to 12%.
SODIV expands product offering
Tunis, TunisiaAUSA has signed a new distribution contract with the SODIV, the official importer and distributor of Piaggio vehicles in Tunisia.
SODIV says with its wide range of product offering now, it wants to be the market leader for vehicles in the construction, industrial and agricultural sectors.
It will now offer customers 150 RM dumpers, concrete mixers, forklifts and sweepers.
