JCB launches new models at expo
Rocester, United Kingdom

JCB is unveiling a new compact model at Conexpo 2014 to add to its Hi-Viz Loadall telescopic handler range for the construction sector.
The company says the launch of the 525-60 brings full-size telehandler performance and features to the compact range.
With a maximum lift height of 6m and a load capacity of 2.5 T, the 525-60 Hi-Viz is 1.8 m (5.9 ft.) wide and 1.91 m (6.3 ft.) tall, allowing access to multi-storey car parks and other confined site conditions. The machine replaces the 524-50, 527-55 and the 520-50 rear-engined models, with a modern side-engine mount design.
JCB is also launching its latest rough-terrain forklift range at the expo, complete with the new Tier 4 JCB Ecomax diesel engine. The 926, 930, 940 and 950 models have lifting capacities of 2,600-4,500 kg (5,732-9,921 lb.) with mast lift heights of 3.6-6.7 m (11.8-22 ft.). The Ecomax engine will be fitted to all four models.

Cargotec expands portfolio
Helsinki, Finland

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has expanded its SmartPort process automation portfolio with two new solutions: Stack Profiling and Anti-Truck Lifting.
The solutions to boost operational safety are integrated as options of the SmartStack and SmartLift products, respectively.
The stack profiling option of Kalmar SmartStack ensures safety by recognising the position of containers in the stack. It prevents containers from being knocked over by the spreader as it moves over the stacks.
The anti-truck lifting option of Kalmar SmartLift ensures trucks are loaded correctly, preventing unintentional lifting. The anti-truck lifting feature is a laser-based detection system protecting against lifting a container chassis due to a locked or jammed chassis twistlock.
