TMHE trucks receives Quiet Mark
Brussels, BelgiumThe Noise Abatement Society has labeled the BT Lifter Silent hand pallet truck and the BT Levio Silent forklift with the Quiet Mark, a recognition given to the world's quietest products.
The BT Lifter Silent is built with rubber steering and frames with shock-absorbing material to reduce vibration noise while the BT Levio Silent has vibration-dampening and sound-reducing material strategically placed inside the chassis.
The Quiet Mark initiative aims to reduce the noise pollution from various appliances and to encourage global companies to develop silent products that improve the quality of everyday life.
Cargotec truck-mounted forklifts win award
Helsinki, FinlandCargotec has received a John Connell Technology Award from the Noise Abatement Society for its new Hiab Moffett E-Generation electric truck-mounted forklifts.
The award acknowledges the company's success in reducing operating noise on the machines to levels that allow them to be used in built-up areas outside regular working hours.
Now in its 11th year, the John Connell Awards recognise organisations that have been outstanding in their efforts to both reduce the impact of noise nuisance and pioneer practical and innovative solutions to noise pollution.
STILL hybrid gets award
Hamburg, GermanySTILL GmbH has won the Federal German Ecodesign Award for its STILL RX 70 hybrid forklift in the "product category".
The Federal Ministry of Environment and the Federal Environment Agency recognised the forklift for its "excellent (ecological) design that covered its complete life cycle". The prize honours companies for products designed to especially avoid harmful environmental effects.
