World's first lithium ion, all-electric truck-mounted forklift

Cargotec exhibited the first all-electric, truck-mounted forklift at the Bedrijfsautorai 2012 expo held at RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands last week.
The first model of the E-generation truck-mounted forklifts, the Hiab Moffett E2, has a lift capacity of 1,200 kg (2,646 lb.) and comes with the latest AC electric motor technology. Cargotec boasts that the forklift has "low noise levels and smooth performance". It is designed for night-time deliveries and use in urban and semi-industrial areas.

Liebherr introduces repositioned telehandlers

Liebherr introduced its "repositioned" series of telehandlers at the Intermat construction and materials expo in Paris last week.
Like the previous models, the four versions - TL 441-10, TL 441-13, TL 451-10 und TL 451-13 - have maximum lift heights of 10 or 13 m (33 or 43 ft.), but their maximum load capacities have increased to 4.1 and 5 T.
Liebherr claims the machines have "excellent stability and generate unusually high lifting force" during lifting and loading.

Doosan shows off high-capacity machines

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment showcased its new high-capacity telehandlers at the Hillhead 2012 expo held at the Hillhead Quarry in Buxton in Derbyshire, UK.
The company says the four models, with maximum lift heights up to 10 m (33 ft.) and lifting capacities from 7-21 T, combine the flexibility of telehandlers with the power of wheel loaders, the efficiency of rough-terrain forklifts and the reach of mobile cranes.
"They can be combined with many more attachments than comparable cranes or forklifts," Doosan says.

New machines lift more and go higher

JCB has unveiled its first Loadall telehandler that can lift loads up to 20 m (66 ft.).
The manufacturer says the JCB 540-200, with a 4 T capacity, has a lift height 3 m (10 ft.) greater than its nearest rival.
"The 540-200 ... will satisfy a demand for increased lift heights and forward-reach capabilities from construction and industrial customers. With fast cycle times, it will set a new benchmark for productivity," says chief innovation officer Tim Burnhope.
JCB has also introduced the JCB 550-80 Loadall, which is its heaviest payload JCB model.
With a 5 T lift capacity and a 130 hp (97 kW) Dieselmax engine, it is designed to handle bulk and is useful for those needing a large bucket capacity for heavy-duty operations.
Personnel baskets to increase the versatility of the JCB 535-125 HiViz and 535-140 HiViz Loadalls are also now available.
