The winner of Plant Engineering's 2011 Top Plant Award is NMHG's Berea facility.

NMHG facility named "top plant"

NACCO Materials Handling Group Inc (NMHG)'s Berea, Kentucky factory has been honoured with Plant Engineering's 2011 Top Plant Award.
The magazine's editor Bob Vavra says NMHG Berea has "an excellent record of safety, energy management and community involvement". The plant manufactures 1-9 T internal combustion engine Hyster and Yale forklifts.

Still honoured by SPAR

Still GmbH has received the SPAR Supplier of the Year Award 2011.
The Hamburg-based manufacturer was recognised for its "excellent performance in product innovation, sustainability, progressiveness, customer management and customer support, and quality and flexibility".
SPAR International is a wholesaler and retailer network consisting of over 12,000 stores in 33 countries.

Jungheinrich wins prize for forklift system

Jungheinrich 's "Fleet Management System ISM Online" has received the German Service Management Prize from the Service Association of Germany.
The information system for forklift management, developed by the forklift manufacturer collects, observes and analyses forklift fleet data, enabling the user to control his forklift fleets in several sites.
The largest European professional association awards the prize to service managers annually.

Linde division wins award

Linde Heavy Truck Division (LTHD) has won the "Advanced Manufacturer" category at the inaugural "Made in Wales Awards" against stiff competition that included GE Aviation Wales, Recycle Direct and Qioptiq.
The judges for the awards held by Insider Media Ltd, praised LHTD for its advanced technology and manufacturing processes.
Welsh secretary Cheryl Gillan has urged Wales to promote itself to the world and is inspired by the country's manufacturing sector.

Jungheinrich receives eco-friendly cert

German certifying association TÜV North has recognised the whole Jungheinrich forklift fleet that the company brought into the market over the last 10 years as meeting certain environmental standards.
Its has given the company an ISO 14040 certification and says Jungheinrich has lowered the carbon dioxide emission in its traditional product segments by over 25% in the last decade.
