New Fortens reduces fuel bills
Fleet, United KingdomHyster Europe is now shipping its 2-5.5 T Fortens forklifts with its new ECO-eLo "fuel efficiency" mode.
"The extensive Hyster testing program suggests that the tough new Fortens is the most fuel-efficient truck on the market for both diesel and LPG, with hybrids being the only exception," says spokesman Peter Madoc-Jones.
One of the ways fuel savings were achieved is the inclusion of the ECO-eLo setting, which reduces the engine-governed speed by 20%. A second setting, HiP, is also available for businesses that require maximum performance, which cannot be switched by the driver in the cab, ensuring managers are in control of the fuel costs at all times. "It is like having two trucks in one," Madoc-Jones says.
