New Fortens reduces fuel bills
Fleet, United Kingdom

Hyster Europe is now shipping its 2-5.5 T Fortens forklifts with its new ECO-eLo "fuel efficiency" mode.
"The extensive Hyster testing program suggests that the tough new Fortens is the most fuel-efficient truck on the market for both diesel and LPG, with hybrids being the only exception," says spokesman Peter Madoc-Jones.
One of the ways fuel savings were achieved is the inclusion of the ECO-eLo setting, which reduces the engine-governed speed by 20%. A second setting, HiP, is also available for businesses that require maximum performance, which cannot be switched by the driver in the cab, ensuring managers are in control of the fuel costs at all times. "It is like having two trucks in one," Madoc-Jones says.

The reach trucks have a wide range of personal adjustments and innovations aimed at minimising operator fatigue and stress. A recent ergonomic evaluation study by Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg compared the new Atlet Tergo with reach trucks from three other makes and found the Tergo offered more ergonomic working postures than the other trucks.

CESAB updates popular forklift
Brussels, Belgium

CESAB Material Handling has launched its compact B200 three-wheel forklift.
With load capacities from 1-1.5 T and powerful 24 volt motors, the B200's 6,505 mm lift height and "best-in-class manoeuvrability" makes it an alternative to reach trucks in stacking operations.
The forklift is an updated version of CESAB's popular Blitz model. Operators can use the truck to load and unload lorries, and stack in a yard off in the narrow aisles of a warehouse.

The new series includes the heavy-duty counterbalance OS030BF, standard-duty counterbalance OS03EF, straddle selector SS030BF and furniture selector FS030BF.
"The new order selector series offers intelligently applied technology like Smart-Glide, a continuous height-sensing system that optimises the maximum travel speed at various fork heights by providing stepless speed control," product manager Lou Micheletto says.
