Colleagues and acquaintances of Lee Kramer will gather for his memorial service on Sunday, 25 January at the Xtreme Manufacturing LLC facility, 1415 W Bonanza Road, Las Vegas.
Kramer, 67, the company's president, died on 18 January from the effects of pneumonia.
"Lee was not only our leader, but he was our mentor and our friend," a company statement says. "Lee was a true gentleman and an exceptionally kind and compassionate man who made a positive contribution to the lives of everyone who worked with him."
An engineer at heart, Kramer graduated in1970 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. He started his career at Komatsu Dresser Co and subsequently worked at Blount Inc and Timberjack Corporation.
He entered the aerial work platform industry with UpRight Inc in 1999 as engineering manager based in Selma, California. After a two-year tenure, he moved to Fresno Engineering Design Group. He joined Don Ahern in 2003 at the start of Xtreme Manufacturing, working as vice president of engineering.
Kramer played an integral role in the development of the first Xtreme telehandlers and went on to lead the growth of the Xtreme manufacturing business in his role as president.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Joan Kramer; their son, Justin; and their daughter, Jordan.
Associates are establishing a Lee Kramer Memorial Fund to be used to benefit engineering students.
