Konecranes Lift Trucks has signed a contract with Rong Shun Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd to further expand and strengthen its forklift business in China.
"[The] Chinese market is very important to us and we intend to be more present than previously," says Lars Fredin, vice president and head of lift trucks at Konecranes.
Konecranes aims to meet the specific requirements of the Chinese market through the partnership with its new distributor.
"Sustainable service and instant parts supplies are specific requirements for the Chinese market," Fredin explains. "Customers in China would like to have a stable long-term partner that can provide not only quality products but also good service."
Konecranes started assembling forklifts in Lingang in 2007. There are now several hundred of these forklifts in operation.
"Our products are suitable for any port or industrial application globally. There are always some countries or regional options/specifications needed by our customers; but generally, we are offering the same product all over the globe," Fredin says.
"This new distribution agreement with (Rong Shun) means that we now have very strong representation in China. The success and experience Jim Yu and his team bring to the cooperation is very important to Konecranes."
Rong Shun was selected for its extensive knowledge of the port industry. Its staff have a proven track record of sales and customer care of nearly 30 years, Fredin says.
Konecranes Lift Trucks are available in over 80 countries through both appointed distributors as well as country-specific Konecranes operations.
