Jungheinrich has announced that it will access the markets in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador through direct sales, reinforcing its successful efforts in South America. In addition, the Hamburg-based intralogistics group will take over Grupo Agencia Alemana, its long-standing distribution partner, with effect from 1 January 2018.
Jungheinrich will be the first provider of complete intralogistics solutions to be represented in the three countries by its own direct sales and service network.
Lars Brzoska, member of the board of management for marketing and sales, says the latest move means Jungheinrich will have its own distribution companies in 39 countries. "This underscores our position as one of the world's leading companies in the intralogistics industry and consistently follows our growth strategy.
"After years of successful co-operation with our distribution partner, we are now fully integrating Colombia, Peru and Ecuador into the Jungheinrich network. As well as our strong after sales service, this also has an impact on the availability of spare parts and comprehensive customer care. As a result, we will be in a better position to make optimal use of the local market potential."
Colombia, Peru and Ecuador are among the fastest-growing countries in South America. The growth has set the foundation for Jungheinrich to considerably strengthen its presence in the region, according to the company.
Jungheinrich previously set up direct sales branches in Brazil (2001) and Chile (2016), and the latest moves consolidate its position in South America.
