There will be some tough times ahead for the Japanese forklift industry, and for the broader international market in which Japan is such a big player. As we read this week, even though factories may have escaped damage, their supply lines have been badly affected and much of Japan's infrastructure is also in poor shape. Not least of the problems is electricity supply, and experts anticipate that it will take some time before power generation is anywhere near normal.
Obviously, we all sympathise with the Japanese manufacturers, but it will be interesting to see if potential buyers can wait for a return to normal or will simply choose products from other suppliers.
