Spanish forklift maker Automoviles Utilitarios SA (Ausa) has established a new subsidiary in Germany to provide better after-sales support and backup for its German dealers.

While Ausa's dumpers have been exported from Barcelona for more than 15 years, the Ausa forklift range and other products have sold well in Germany for about the last five years, a company statement said.

Ausa Deutschland GmbH, which has an office and warehouse on the outskirts of Dusseldorf, was established solely to increase the company's exposure to the German market and to oversee backup sales and support for Ausa machines operating in German applications.

"Apart from the increase in the level of service, one of the main objectives is to increase the number of dealers throughout (Germany)," the company said.

Meanwhile, Ausa United Kingdom is about to incorporate five new distributors in Great Britain and Ireland. Managing director Gerard Bibby said enlarging the UK dealer network was a priority this year.
