Falklands veteran addresses delegates
Newbury, Berkshire, United Kingdom

Falklands veteran Simon Weston has accepted the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA)'s invitation to address its Safety Conference next month.
"We are very pleased to announce that Mr Weston will be attending the event and sharing his inspirational story with delegates this year," says FLTA CEO Peter Harvey. "His is a story of triumph over adversity and his presentation will show the power of a positive mental attitude, the importance of turning difficulty into opportunity and remaining committed to a goal."
The one-day conference will take place at Warwick University on 24 September.
This year's program, with the theme "Is there a killer in your warehouse: 5 real-world ways to transform forklift safety", includes case studies from companies which have successfully driven safety change, including: Babcock Marine, Briggs Equipment UK, GKN plc, Interfit UK Ltd, JCB and Mentor Training.

Refurbishment centre reaches milestone
Aschaffenburg, Germany

The 30,000th used KAUP attachment was refurbished in the Used Attachment Centre in Aschaffenburg, Germany this month.
Like other refurbished used attachments, the T429B1-2-3 triple pallet handler was completely dismantled and cleaned of all dirt, oil and grease.
Then, an extensive check was conducted of all wear and tear parts, followed by the working order of each part. The fork thickness was also measured to check for wear and tear and reworked if necessary. The final painting of the attachment ensured that the pallet handler shone like new.
The milestone attachment is currently stored with 1,500 other used attachments.

Mentor celebrates campaign
Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Mentor Training is celebrating the success of its year-long charity campaign which raised GBP25,000 (USD41,541) for five charities.
Organised to mark the company's 25th anniversary, Mission 25 has involved a variety of challenges for Mentor staff, as well as collection of donations from the company and its customers.
Throughout the year, Mentor donated 50p for every training day booked, while Mentor staff organised individual fundraising for their own sponsored missions.
For example, Mentor's systems manager, Neil Rose, challenged himself to complete a series of five half-marathons held in locations ranging from Wörthersee in Austria to the Formula 1 track at Silverstone. Norma Gartland took on a sky dive in Nottingham, jumping from 13,000 ft., including a 5,000 ft. freefall.
