Hyster to offer Seegrid AGV technology
Greenville, NC, United StatesThe Hyster forklift brand of publicly traded Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc plans to begin offering vision-guided automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology from Seegrid Corp. The Yale brand
announced its Seegrid alliance in March.
The Guided by Seegrid technology will allow Hyster Co to increase the intelligence of its forklift trucks with the system, which delivers smart navigation without the need for wires, lasers or tape like other AGVs.
"The toughness of our Hyster products is matched only by their complementary intelligence to deliver a high level of overall value to our customers," says Brett Schemerhorn, vice president of marketing for Greenville-based Hyster.
Hyster expects the Guided by Seegrid technology to help reduce the total cost of ownership for certain forklift truck fleets, offsetting labour needs and enabling redeployment of current employees to value-added roles.
