The history of Bozela Parts AB

1970's

Mr. Bo Zetterlund founded Bozela Parts AB on 6th February 1976 in his hometown Ed in Sweden.

Previously, he had worked for Jungheinrich in Stockholm for 5 years. During this time, he met his wife Kerstin, whose father had a small fork truck manufacturing company in Ed called Kentruck. Bo followed his wife to Ed and worked for his father in law for another 5 years as a purchasing manager. Thus, he got to know many subcontractors and suppliers to the fork truck industry from all over the world. Bo found this very interesting, and at the end of 1975, Bo and Kerstin decided that this was something they wanted to try on their own. So Bozela was born.

At first, they only sold contacts for contactors, and the first customer was Volvo in Gothenburg. Soon they found out that there were not many companies like this and their only real competitors were the OEM. The product range widened and soon their house was too small. They moved to premises in the industrial area of Ed. The range grew constantly and products like tyres, wheels, carbon brushes, electronics and mechanical spares were added. Because of the contact net Bo had built up, he could find good suppliers and sign contracts with them as sole dealer for Sweden and in some cases even Norway. Here the strategy of using the same suppliers as the OEM started. A strategy that Bozela has used throughout the years: "Use the same parts as the fork truck is built of".

1980's
At the beginning of the 1980's, the first employee outside the family was hired. In 1982, the local fire force wanted to move to the premises that Bozela had hired. Therefore, Bozela had to move 500 meters to another building where they stayed until the end of 1990. In the mid 80's things really started to happen: turnover and staff grew. In 1986, they were five people and the turnover was SEK 5,6 million.

Bozela was now known as a specialist for electrical spare parts for forklift trucks and other electrical vehicles. At this time, Sweden had a quite big forklift industry with various producers. Companies like BT and Atlet were quite successful outside Sweden and had a big portion of their customers there.

Bozela had started to develop a line of spares for Scandinavian brands and because of this, export grew and Bozela was starting to get a name as a "specialist in parts for Scandinavian brands". Their first export country was Norway because of the fact that Ed is only 17 km from the Norwegian border. In 1984, they signed a deal with a company called Bruco Maskin AS to be Bozela's sole agent for Norway. This cooperation continued until 2005 when Bruco joined the TVH group.

Thru the 80's the steady, constant growth continued for Bozela. In 1989, the board decided to move to bigger premises. At first, they searched in the Gothenburg area, but the municipal administration made a big effort to keep Bozela in Ed. Bozela was offered a refurbished real estate in Ed and chose to stay.

In 1995, the company's founder Bo started to think of a slow retirement. Therefore, he appointed one of the employees, Mr. Hans-Olov Blom, as managing director in October 1995. Bo himself started his retirement plan with deducting one working day per week and year and on 1st January 2000, he retired completely from the operational day-to-day work, but continued as the chairman of the board.

Under the new MD's wings Bozela focused on increasing their market share globally, sales of branded products, initiating talks with all major OEMs and marketed themselves as a one-stop-shop. These measures and hard work of the sales force increased the turnover growth.

On 1st January 2002, Bo sold the company to a Dutch investment company. At that time Bozela's turnover was SEK 30 million and they had 12 employees. Another big day in the Bozela history is the 6th September 2004. That was the day when the Dutch owners decided to sell Bozela. Since that day, we are a happy member of the TVH group.

Our primary goal is to develop the market of the "Nordic Region". In addition, our unique knowledge of Scandinavian brands is a valued competence within the group.

Today
In 2009, Bozela had a turnover of SEK 43 million with 17 employees.

In 2010, we will strengthen our position on the Swedish market by participating in the Logistic and Transport fair in Gothenburg. We will promote our big range of parts and accessories to forklifts and electrical vehicles.

One of the product groups that we will focus on during the fair is wheels and rollers. We have worked with RAEDER-VOGEL® since 1998 and today they are one of our most important suppliers. Their big range of different wheel coatings such as VULKOLLAN® , VULKOSOFT® , VULKODYN® , VULKOLLAN® -ESD, VULKOLLAN® quartz, TRACTOTHAN® , TRACTOSOFT® , PEVOPUR® and PEVOSOFT® gives us a good opportunity to solve our customers' problems.

Today we are more like a partner for our customers than a regular supplier. Our unique knowledge about all different forklift brands makes our customers' daily work a lot easier. We work closely with them to achieve the best support and service to the forklift users.

We will continue to develop our product range to be a "One Stop Shop" for all of our customers, and with TVH Forklift Parts behind us, everything is possible.
