Bolzoni's push-pull attachment is one of its most popular products in South East Asia. |
Forklift attachment maker Bolzoni Auramo has signed a dealership agreement with Singapore-based RFA Industries Pte Ltd.
BolBolzoni spokesman Carlo Fallarini tells
Forkliftaction.com News that despite the global economic downturn, the South East Asian forklift market has been growing. "The number of forklifts sold [there] increased about 40% in 2011. A lot of foreign investments, mainly European and American, are populating the industrial and logistics areas in the different countries."
He explains that the need for efficient logistics processes in the region has resulted in higher demand for forklift attachments. Before appointing RFA Industries as its distributor for Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, Bolzoni was handling its South East Asian business activities from its Italian headquarters.
The new partnership is part of the group's global strategy to exploit growth in the Asian market. Bolzoni is also investing EUR10 million (USD13.7 million) in two new production plants in China. The plant in Longhua is dedicated to fork manufacturing, while the Wuxi factory will manufacture other attachments.
RFA Industries is part of Syspex Technologies Pte Ltd, based in Singapore. RFA has about 10 employees, and the company will focus on promoting Bolzoni forklift attachments. It also has a sales, service and parts presence in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
Syspex claims to be a South East Asian market leader in logistics, warehousing and packaging systems and solutions.
