Oceaneering launches new AMR features

Autonomous mobile robot (AMR) developer, Oceaneering, has announced the release of a suite of advanced autonomy features now available for its MaxMover counterbalance forklift and CompactMover FOL U 1200.

Oceaneering Mobile Robotics says the new capabilities of its counterbalance AMR include Elevated Obstacle Detection (EOD), a feature which identifies overhead hazards and allows the machine to automatically slow or prevent collisions and Empty Drop-off Detection (EDD), which actively scans drop-off zones to ensure they are clear before payload release. 

Other features from Oceaneering include Fork Pitch Adjustment (FPA), which automatically modifies fork width to accommodate varying pallet sizes, eliminating manual adjustments.

The CompactMover FOL U 1200, which has been designed to replace traditional electric pallet stackers, now includes EOD as well as Automatic Pallet Tracking and Available Location Detection which scans rows and finds available spaces.

“With these innovations, Oceaneering Mobile Robotics continues to push the boundaries of autonomous material handling,” the company states.

Automation specialist partners with integrator

US warehouse automation systems and software provider, Savoye North America, has announced a strategic partnership with materials handling integrator, Cisco-Eagle, to provide scalable warehouse automation solutions.

The partnership will combine Savoye’s automation portfolio and intelligent software solutions with Cisco-Eagle’s integration and engineering expertise.
