Yale/Hyster Display problems

HI there

Anyone had this problem on the Yale/Hyster electric trucks where sometimes the dash display just dies on you?? Have had several over the years on different trucks with the same problem, suddenly the display stops working, sometimes if you disconnect the connector discharge battery and replug connector back in some of the lights appear but does not always work correctly.

Is this a known problem that has a fix?

The display is the one with the 1 to 5 numbers and allows u to select modes 1 to 4 through the display.

The only time I have had displays fail or develop funny symptoms on these trucks are in instances where the truck is fitted with white or polyurethane tires and no static strap is fitted. Especially in a polyurethane coated floor static electricity builds up to an enormous degree and causes all kinds of damage to sensitive electronic components, I had an hourmeter run backwards on me once. Check to see that the truck has either black tires or a static strap or chain or cable fitted and that it is clean.

Yes I have, but I need to know if it's a XL2, XL3, XM, or FT/VX style, weither it's standard or premium, and weither it's IC or electric as the procedures vary. For some of the displays you need a special cable and program.

Hi Tech

These displays are off previous trucks also and the trucks vary but they use the same displays on both hyster/Yale.

I think I have had some information through from a yale service bulletin about having to re-programme the displays?? Does this sound familiar to you?
